WHAT DOES "WORSHIP" MEAN TO YOU?
Worship?...is not just music. Worship is not about talent. Worship is that attitude of heart...when you bring all that you have to the altar of sacrifice(just like the woman that brought her last two tiny coins in offerings for God) and He will pour out the blessings. Worship is when your heart sings with the angels ' Holy, Holy, Holy is the Lord God!' and the place fills with His presence and His fragrance. Worship is that attitude of your heart before Him... that sincerity and inner beauty He can't resist it, but to love you back and He will overflow you with His love and He'll reveal His beautiful secrets to you. Worship changes you, and makes you more and more alike the One that is the source of you worship- like Jesus Christ. Worship is the response of my heart to God's love for me. It's also having a meal with Jesus, the love of my heart(Rev.3:20). I love the verse from John4:24 “God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and in truth.”
Another translation says : "It's who you are and the way you live that count before God. Your worship must engage your spirit in the pursuit of truth. That's the kind of people the Father is out looking for: those who are simply and honestly themselves before him in their worship. God is sheer being itself—Spirit. Those who worship him must do it out of their very being, their spirits, their true selves, in adoration."The Message (MSG)
Worship is not just an awesome trend in christian music, is not a specific holy ritual, is not just a beautiful program we make every Sunday in church, is not my personal time with God...worship is who I am and how I live every single minute of my life. Worship involves everything we are. Our mind and heart, thoughts, words and actions...everything! To worship is to live a life that is holy and pleasing to God.
We'll talk more about worship, but keep this in mind for the moment- Worship is who you are and the way you live.
